A & R Stables

A & R Stables is located in a picturesque setting between I-90 in the Spokane Valley and Mt. Spokane. It is owned and operated by Roger and Arlee Benegar and home to about 30 horses. Mr. and Mrs. Benegar have quietly bred beautiful Paint horses with world class pedigrees including lines of the famous Scribbles Jr. and I'm A Tinky Sugar Bar.

Once home to Aspenwood Arabians, the barn and arena that stood on the site for many years collapsed to the ground under the snow load in December 2008. Now, completely reconstructed, tucked back against the foothills of Mt. Spokane, a new red barn and lovely indoor arena grace the property. Arlee and Roger offer full care boarding in matted stalls, some with paddocks attached and pasture board when it is available. Boarded horses enjoy pasture turnout on acres of rolling hills with trail access. The facility has a 60 ft sand round pen and 100x150 sand outdoor arena that overlooks the pastures below.

Riding lessons, school horses and horse training are offered at the facility by Michelle Binder of the Relational Riding Academy making A & R a full service facility.
